Fujifilm instax mini!

When out in London back in early June I bagged myself a Fujifilm instant camera from Urban Outfitters - Oxford Street and I'm in absolute looooove with it!

I really wish the films weren't so expensive as I used 20 pieces in 3 days and resisting myself to 3 days was so so hard anyway as once I get snapping I can't stop!!

Drop me a line if you have any idea of any places to get the 'mini films from for good prices, I'd be so very grateful! Mail me @ samanthajofinn@hotmail.com

Anyway! Using the camera is really easy and simple, it has a few settings to choose for which weather 'condition' you're in and a indoor setting. Simply choose your setting and click the shutter button, it's that easy! I would recommend not using the camera for up-close shots that any closer than arms width as you're gonna end up with a softer not-so-focused image! (I did this and what could've been an amazing image, turned out to be a minor disappointment because of the image not being sharp! Daaayum!)

Just look at how beautiful that is! Definitely recommend!
Go grab one in many colours at Urban Outfitters! :)

So, I received a letter in the post!

To my surprise, it was from the University I was supposed to be going to this September just gone.

They've sent me a letter to apply for 2015 /2016 course year, after cancelling the course this year because of there not being enough applicants.

See the thing is I got really downhearted about it when I got the letter saying they're sorry to tell me that the curriculum has been cancelled. And I kind of lost interest in wanting to go to university, reading that I had automatic entry to the course deferring to next year.
The real question is, do I want to risk applying again..to only be let down again?

The university itself has had a a little track record in August cancelling various courses because of not enough applicants and the uni has only been open 2.. neeeearly 3 years now. I don't see my course pulling through this year or the coming next 3 years to even complete the degree? My friend can't complete her uni course into second year because there aren't enough people to provide a class worth putting on? So her having that experience is making me not want to risk £6,000 on something I may not be able to complete in the comfort of my hometown due to money issues! Hmmmm.

I think I'll pass, I'm doing just fine and I'm happy without the Uni troubles!

Power on! :)

Marmaris Photographs September 2014

Here is a selection of images I have taken this month, in Marmaris. 7th - 15th September 2014.

Well christ it's been one heck of year!

I haven't posted for 8 months! That's crazy. But so much stuff has happened in that time.

I've been to a fair few places and photographed a variety of things. This year for me, it's been mostly about not so much photographing people. But more landscapes and street scenes.

The next few posts will be about the different places I've been and the things I've produced in this time.

So I haven't been on here in a while!!

So, a short update is needed!
I haven't been on here in a while because I've actually done so much stuff, and I've been way too busy to even write anything!

What's more...my new camera hasn't even come yet which is making me sad a bit :( haha. But hopefully that will get sorted out today. If worse comes to worse...I'll be £200 well off again anyway, which I could REALLY do with right now! But I'm going to stay positive and hope that Royal Mail are just taking the pee a bit. -.- it's been a good couple of weeks now though so I'm starting to become impatient.

On the other hand, I'm doing a photoshoot with my friend (and model) Jess, on Thursday afternoon in Cleethorpes...and hopefully the weather will stay dry otherwise it's just going to go to ploppp. :) but that should be lots of fun!

I'll write about last Wednesdays photoshoot of Hard To Be Wise, in a separate post including a few images!!! :D

Pretty Excited for the near future. :)

On Wednesday I've got a photoshoot of a band involving one of my good pals, Dean Garrod who recently sang solo at Grimsby Pride 2013 (You were amazing by the way)! Which is set up from as part of a Music course at a local college located not that far from me. :)

Happy birthday to Dean today as well, hope you had an amazing day mate! :)

I'm certainly hoping that we'll get some great shots from Wednesday, I'm feeling pretty positive so definitely looking forward to seeing the outcome images! :) Will definitely be finding time to put some up on here. There's so much to write about and show you, I'll still be adding photos from a year back on here in close weeks to come. I really wish I started this blog sooner, I love writing and ranting about things way too much for my own good!

Also, I'm getting quite a few shoots booked in for end of this month and currently got 3 to sort out for the end of November! Two of which are going to be Christmas photoshoots with little kiddies! So should be adorable! ;D

Exciiiiited much! :D

Updates soooon! Still haven't got my new camera yet, so review is on the waiting list! No worries. :)

Can't believe what just happened!

Just managed to bag myself a Canon 600D for £190.....are we forrrr f**kin' real! :O
Been looking for DAYS for a bargain and I just happen to come to a site and think.."oh yeah I'll look on here just incase not that it'll be any different to eBay like," and omggg. YES, there it was.

So I'm pretty buzzing right now, so chuffed :D

And also, that means I'll have two of the same lens(my other camera has the same 18mm-55mm lens so ofc I don't need two) so will end up selling that, so really I've got it for LOADS cheaper than I would have initially done. Soo glad I searched around. On eBay they're ranging from £289.99 to £600! :) jfgbkjbgk. I'll have to make a review when I have a play with it! ^_^

On eBay...

On eBay there's a camera lens and body that I want so bad. It's on a bid, and has 2 days left for people to bid and I'm absolutely wetting myself with anticipation.

OMFG I NEED THIS CAMERA SO MUCH AND OMG WHY SO CHEAP AAAAH.

I'm actually going insane. If I don't win it, I'll be so gutted! Gaah, just thinking about it makes me upset already haha!

Competition and businesses on Facebook

There seems to be a lot of competition within the photography industry on Facebook lately, and I don't really like it. But in a way I do?

It took me long enough to finally pick up the courage to make my photography page because there is SO much criticism out there and so many horrible people, and then one day I thought why not.

Anyway, my point is...ever since this day I've noticed a S**T load of other Photography pages of other teens I know and stuff, and yeah fair enough...whatever, that's fine. But the stress and competition it's put on me and the rest of is, is so intense! Like what the hell? Where did this even all come from?

It's like, calm down guys...it's basically a place to blog your work and get feedback and an audience! Not piss on each others fire. And be absolute c*nts to each other?

In a way I'm liking and enjoying the pressure, gives me more of a reason to boost myself and set new objectives and directions, so cheers. :)

Dalyan Boat Trip

Thought I'd give you another insight to a cool feeling photo from the boat trip. It feels kind of chilling because the colours are quite cold and edgey. I like it. :)

Update

Hi there again guys! :)
I said I'd update you on my new petalhead hood for my camera, so here I am....uuupadating you!

I haven't actually been out to try it properly yet, but I have fixed it to the camera and gone around the house (I know that doesn't make a difference whatsoever because that's controlled lighting) BUT here's the pros and cons:

Pros:

- The fit is strong onto the filter screw.
- Hard and sturdy plastic, so you get what you pay for, not the cheap plastic stuff.
- Doesn't look cheap and nasty, looks professional.
- Does it's purpose for a great price.

Cons:

- Although it fits strongly onto the filter screw, you have to think about it instead of being able to put it on quiclky, which for some people may be annoying depending on preference.
- You can't pack it away onto the camera as it doesn't have the screw setting on the otherside (turning it the other way so it basically hugs the lens) which makes it nice for putting in camera bags, but with people like me, it doesn't matter much at all.
- Moves around with the lens on "AUTO mode". Though, when you're on Manual setting it doesn't do this.

At the minute it has a '10% off' offer, so take a look and get your hands on this fab cheap lens hood and add it to your kit!

Today I got a new toy! :D

This is what I got in the post yesterday!
Looking forward to using my new petal head hood for my camera. Which means I can take LOADS more Landscape and Portrait photography outdoors without the dreaded streak the sun makes sometimes!

It's so lightweight it felt like there was nothing inside the box! Nice little addition to my kit. I will write a review post one day soon about how good it is, pros and cons etc. :)

Thanks, Sam.
