So, I received a letter in the post!

To my surprise, it was from the University I was supposed to be going to this September just gone.

They've sent me a letter to apply for 2015 /2016 course year, after cancelling the course this year because of there not being enough applicants.

See the thing is I got really downhearted about it when I got the letter saying they're sorry to tell me that the curriculum has been cancelled. And I kind of lost interest in wanting to go to university, reading that I had automatic entry to the course deferring to next year.
The real question is, do I want to risk applying again..to only be let down again?

The university itself has had a a little track record in August cancelling various courses because of not enough applicants and the uni has only been open 2.. neeeearly 3 years now. I don't see my course pulling through this year or the coming next 3 years to even complete the degree? My friend can't complete her uni course into second year because there aren't enough people to provide a class worth putting on? So her having that experience is making me not want to risk £6,000 on something I may not be able to complete in the comfort of my hometown due to money issues! Hmmmm.

I think I'll pass, I'm doing just fine and I'm happy without the Uni troubles!

Power on! :)

SO, in my last post...

I told you about how I was going to use a disposable camera that I was going to use at the Lady Gaga artRAVE Sheffield.

Disappointing fact is, I only actually took one photo at the concert, and that was outside waiting with my best friends. OOPS! It's literally a fabulous photo though! :)

So, I also told you that the negatives have random cats on them so that when the photos are developed and etc, these cats show up...but you don't know which cat design is going to be on what photo.

GREAT THING IS! That we got lucky on the one photo we too, there's two cats situated either side of us so you can see us three! What I hoped that didn't happen was a big cat face to be smack on our faces so the photo wasn't worth even taking, but that didn't happen so i'm pretty pleased!

Downfall to the camera was it didn't work too well in dimmer lights, you had to have quite a lot of light, AND the flash aswell...so out of the 28 exposure film, I got one fab photo, and 2 other ones that look pretty cool and Tumblr-esque. So I'll do some work with those one day. :) The rest were completely black with random cat designs etc on them. Massive fail!

I would definitely try this again though, it was fun to experiment with what was basically the unknown! I'm going to buy a few different ones with different outcomes, designs colours etc!

Disposable Camera...lets try something different!

Okay so the last time I had used a disposable camera was probably late 2005 when I'd been on a holiday with my Mum! So that's a real long time, about 9 years ago and I was only 11 years old! :)
I've used film cameras since, and I honestly don't know why they're still not as 'Fashionable' if-you-like, as they were many moons ago! They're fantastic.
I love the -not knowing- of the outcome until you develop the film! (Another thing I miss doing myself, developing and processing film, sad times!)
Anyway, last Christmas I got this nifty disposable camera bought from Urban Outfitters. and I'm in love with it! It has cats all over the packaging and seriously I never want to use it. But, I was saving it for a special event or something. :)
Apparently when I take photos with this camera it will put cute things on the photo. Images of cats, writing such as "MEOW", whiskers and just some random stuff involving cats! Which is quite cool I thought! :)

I'm going to Sheffield on 20th November to go to another Lady Gaga concert for the #artRAVE :)
I thought that because this is going to be a MUCHMUCH quieter show than Manchester and other places such as Birmingham and London etc, this would give me a cheeky opportunity to use this! As I wont get bashed about as much in the standing area as it hasn't sold out, giving me more room to do what I got to do haha!
I'm going to see A Day To Remember the next day in Sheffield also, so if I have any film left I'll try some shots there too. But I doubt I will. ;)

Anyway, I'm sure i'll post another post as to 1, how the show was 2, if the film processed and printed out okay and 3, if all goes to plan... the images themselves!
I'm taking my Nikon camera anyway too so I'll still post photos.

So I said a few weeks I was going to Manchester to see Lady Gaga...

My experience of the #ArtRAVE

So, can I just say...I had such an amazing time with my pals and all those that I met during the 3 day sesh I had in Manchester *minus a couple of encounters* but who cares about those? ;)

We arrived for "camping" on the 19th, which yesssss is two days before the actual show, October the 21st. But we wanted the full package and wanted to make the most of the experience by meeting new people and touring Manchester and having high hopes of something eccentric happening like meeting Gaga or someone important.

I did however see Pheobe (Mandip Gill) an actor from Hollyoaks just chilling walking round the Arndale center and noone was bothered?! and there's me like OMG, freaking out and too scared to ask for a picture haha. Silly me.

Anyway!
The first day we went around the Victoria Station and had a little wander of where we will be 'camping' or...as we ACTUALLY did, just sat for a long while and went back to the hotel just meters away from the Arena.
A few fans came and said hello which was pretty cool :)
Second day we went back and 'camped' again all day, and took it in shifts. Our friend came down to camp with us. Whilst two went to sleep in an actual bed in the hotel and had showers, got changed etc. and then they came back and the rest did the same.

I think people actually thought we was gonna camp with not food showers drinks spare clothes etc for 3 days, which was quite funny cause we got absolutely nailed for it!

What annoyed me was is the fact people had the nerve to call us crazy, stupid, and all sorts of horrible names...YES from the 'fanbase'. But the fact is that these people have all done the same as what we did this Era as they have done every pissing other Era that we haven't had the opportunity to do due to reasons of our own, regarding age, work, money, family, transport and many other issues.. We're all not like them. We got mocked to absolute sh*tttt! but in the end, we had a fantastic time!

My friend got her jacket worn by Gaga that she threw on stage, and then her Girlfriend threw a My Little Pony on stage and Gaga picked it up and ran off Backstage with it...Which in my eyes is pretty....FUCKING FANTASTIC. So happy for my Frands! :D

I thew my own little Hello Kitty on stage, which unfortunately  only made it to a Professional stage selfie as it laid next to her as she laid across the runway. But that's good enough for me ;) she kicked it and then Asiel (Gaga's Dancer) threw it back into the crowd and someone caught it. They found me on Facebook and told me they had it! Which is great cause at least I know where it is now, and I don't have to wonder if she got it or not!

I suppose I should get onto the actual show now?

JESUS, it was bloody fantastic! Never have I ever gone to a show, stood up and enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the #artRAVE. It was honestly the time of my life and I loved it that much that I bought another ticket to another show in Sheffield (#artRAVESheffield).

She bellyflopped the MANiCURE runway right above where I was stood (Baring in mind I could actually touch the runway with a tiny jump, and I'm tiny anyway!) and oh my goodness! I have never got so squashed in my life because of everyone grabbing her arm and hand! Not only that, Gaga looked scared for her life which was quite funny at the time hahahaha :')

Anyway! After a lot of jumping and screaming and running and dancing! I got some absolutely fabulous photos of Gaga and the supports (LOVED THE SUPPORTS BTW BUT THIS POST HAS COME TO AN END CAUSE IM TOO EXCITED)

Sunday 19th to Wednesday 22nd October

On these dates I will be in Manchester ready for the Lady Gaga concert I am going to attend on 21st!

Me and many of my pals will be camping out for one or maybe two nights, in the street at Victoria Station, and enjoying a crazy experience to see one of our idols. It's going to be absolutely amazing, and we're probably going to catch an extreme cold! but it's going to be so worth it. I'm so stoked to actually be within a meter or two of Lady Gaga, rather than seated many many meters away like I was for the Born This Way Ball.

Hopefully I am going to get a lot of pictures so I can upload some on here. But the main part of this holiday break is for me to unwind and totally let go and enjoy every minute of it all.

We're all going to meet so many people there, friends that we've known years and haven't met yet, and I cannot wait. These people have been the bane of my life for so long now, better than the ones that are within actual reach. Nothing could match up to the standards of long distance friendships. Thee best.

Promise to get some cool shots if I can manage without the blur, lets see what my Nikon Coolpix L830 can handle!

I'll be back soon xx

Marmaris Photographs September 2014

Here is a selection of images I have taken this month, in Marmaris. 7th - 15th September 2014.

UPDATE: University

Well, I don't think this post is going to be a happy one at all!

About 3 months ago I got my acceptance letter to go to Grimsby University. I know it isn't a fantastic place but, it was convenient for me. And When I got that letter I was over the moon to know I'd be going on to study further in what I would class as my future career.

So I've been prepared for that ever since!

THEN, along comes another letter in the post about....over a month ago saying that the course has been deferred to next year because unfortunately not enough students applied for the course. HOW GUTTING IS THAT? I am actually really gutted. I got my place, I got accepted, got my finance sorted out. And then that letter really set me back. Genuinely upset about it because I knew that this was the right time for me to go off.

A fresh start,  almost?

Of course I signed the part where it said that I can be considered onto next years application straight away, but there's still no guarantee that the course would even go on. And to be fair, I don't think it will. It wasn't the ONLY course that was cancelled at this University this year, and everyone is really miffed off to be honest.

Best part is, is that I got offered onto another course to do with Filming? What even?

Yes, it is a digital photographic type of course, BUT...how can that really relate to commercial photography? If I wanted to do filming I'd have applied for it. Thanks though?

Like, yes they're so similar in some ways, but they're also in every way different.

Arrr, the whole thing infuriates me! But I don't think I'm going to wait til next year anymore. I'm doing rather well just the way I am with my page and my followers.

Thanks for all the endless support I've been given over the past 2 years of being 'public'.

Means so much. :)

Well christ it's been one heck of year!

I haven't posted for 8 months! That's crazy. But so much stuff has happened in that time.

I've been to a fair few places and photographed a variety of things. This year for me, it's been mostly about not so much photographing people. But more landscapes and street scenes.

The next few posts will be about the different places I've been and the things I've produced in this time.

University

So, as I was saying in my previous post..I am in hope to go to University in September to continue my Education in my passionate field.
I took my gap year or so to help me explore and define myself in regards to my personal photography, and although I don't have a set idea on what I love most (which I think is great) I find I'm ready to take my next step.
I haven't found the exact passion in my photography because frankly, I'm still discovering the world and there's so much more out there that I haven't explored yet. Although these past 6 months I have took a turn into bringing myself up through the likes of Facebook, I have been drawn to a lot of Child/Baby Photography, but this isn't where I am going to stop and I don't think I'd settle down and do that one subject for a living in the future, but I love doing those type shoots, nevertheless!
I've loved going on holiday and going to concerts to capture images from different types of activity this year. It's endless what you can do with a camera, and I don't think everyone will ever touch the sides.
I'm so excited what the industry can become in the future, it has so much potential. :)

I'm excited to see whether I get the place at Uni, it will be a great next 3 years in my life, enjoying learning more and more about the subject. I just want to get better and better at it and not stop.

I sound so, so geeky right now! Ah well. :)

New Year and hopefully the real kick start to everything falling into place...

Hopefully in September I'll be going into University to study further into Photography and make it all seem "definite" I suppose, if that's what you want to call it!
I've actually had a great time using Facebook as my starting guide to getting myself 'out there' and getting nearly 1,000 followers/subscribers in a short space of time, is fantastic, for my hometown. (949 people to be exact haha) It just makes me feel fantastic. :)

Erm, so year a few of my favourite highlights to the past 6 months of being Facebook 'official' is, having the opportunity to take photos for two of the most popular nightclubs in Cleethorpes. (Nerve wracking I must say) but wouldn't say no to doing it again. Considering I'm shy, I felt I didn't do too bad at all.

A recent one was, ASDA Superstore refusing one of my clients to print my images off a disc I made her, and me having to write and sign a formal letter to say...you know..I gave her permission to do so. That situation just set everything in stone for me and made me feel like I was important and more so that they contained the images from her until they received the letter, haha. I'm this 4'11" woman, who looks about 12...it was a daunting experience, but I'm glad that happened, if that makes any sense?

And just basically to the advantage everyone has given me to take images of them or their children, is great whilst trying to get up with the top-photographers already out there. :)

Everything I've done in these past 6 months has helped me and my work blossom and progress, and I'm thankful and so grateful for it all.

Happy New Year.
