Fujifilm instax mini!

When out in London back in early June I bagged myself a Fujifilm instant camera from Urban Outfitters - Oxford Street and I'm in absolute looooove with it!

I really wish the films weren't so expensive as I used 20 pieces in 3 days and resisting myself to 3 days was so so hard anyway as once I get snapping I can't stop!!

Drop me a line if you have any idea of any places to get the 'mini films from for good prices, I'd be so very grateful! Mail me @ samanthajofinn@hotmail.com

Anyway! Using the camera is really easy and simple, it has a few settings to choose for which weather 'condition' you're in and a indoor setting. Simply choose your setting and click the shutter button, it's that easy! I would recommend not using the camera for up-close shots that any closer than arms width as you're gonna end up with a softer not-so-focused image! (I did this and what could've been an amazing image, turned out to be a minor disappointment because of the image not being sharp! Daaayum!)

Just look at how beautiful that is! Definitely recommend!
Go grab one in many colours at Urban Outfitters! :)

Cheek to Cheek Tour - Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga @ Royal Albert Hall 09/06/15

I was really looking forward to seeing the controversial pair, Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett in concert in London! But unfortunately it was cancelled very very last minute. :(
Despite this, I had a very fun four days in London chasing the Lady herself around her hotel - The Langham with lots of friends, new and old. And to be fair, we were so so close. Close enough for a selfie! (lol)

I did however get some pictures, but they're only pap pics from my phone of Gaga outside her hotel...not exactly the HQ I wanted, but still it's something. :)

On the day of the second date show in London, we got to Knightsbridge and went to the Royal Albert Hall..had dinner inside the venue, a drink or two. When it came to queuing up to go inside, and it was just after "doors opening" time when I had a gut feeling that something was going to go wrong or happen...and a few minutes after this, the guy on the speaker announced that the show that night would no longer take place due to illness. Now I have never seen so many people cry in one place at any one time! It was safe to say that it was gutting, old ladies and young girls distraught, it did pull my heartstrings but I stayed in a stable state of mind, because yano....someone has to! Me and my friend were absolutely gutted though because we were excited to see the once-in-a-lifetime event. Of course Tony is in his late 80's now, it's usually not likely someone of this guys age to still be performing. But he's well and kicking! Great guy though, adorable!

Shame about the show, but had a fantastic few days and still thoroughly enjoyed myself...

So, I received a letter in the post!

To my surprise, it was from the University I was supposed to be going to this September just gone.

They've sent me a letter to apply for 2015 /2016 course year, after cancelling the course this year because of there not being enough applicants.

See the thing is I got really downhearted about it when I got the letter saying they're sorry to tell me that the curriculum has been cancelled. And I kind of lost interest in wanting to go to university, reading that I had automatic entry to the course deferring to next year.
The real question is, do I want to risk applying again..to only be let down again?

The university itself has had a a little track record in August cancelling various courses because of not enough applicants and the uni has only been open 2.. neeeearly 3 years now. I don't see my course pulling through this year or the coming next 3 years to even complete the degree? My friend can't complete her uni course into second year because there aren't enough people to provide a class worth putting on? So her having that experience is making me not want to risk £6,000 on something I may not be able to complete in the comfort of my hometown due to money issues! Hmmmm.

I think I'll pass, I'm doing just fine and I'm happy without the Uni troubles!

Power on! :)

SO, in my last post...

I told you about how I was going to use a disposable camera that I was going to use at the Lady Gaga artRAVE Sheffield.

Disappointing fact is, I only actually took one photo at the concert, and that was outside waiting with my best friends. OOPS! It's literally a fabulous photo though! :)

So, I also told you that the negatives have random cats on them so that when the photos are developed and etc, these cats show up...but you don't know which cat design is going to be on what photo.

GREAT THING IS! That we got lucky on the one photo we too, there's two cats situated either side of us so you can see us three! What I hoped that didn't happen was a big cat face to be smack on our faces so the photo wasn't worth even taking, but that didn't happen so i'm pretty pleased!

Downfall to the camera was it didn't work too well in dimmer lights, you had to have quite a lot of light, AND the flash aswell...so out of the 28 exposure film, I got one fab photo, and 2 other ones that look pretty cool and Tumblr-esque. So I'll do some work with those one day. :) The rest were completely black with random cat designs etc on them. Massive fail!

I would definitely try this again though, it was fun to experiment with what was basically the unknown! I'm going to buy a few different ones with different outcomes, designs colours etc!

Disposable Camera...lets try something different!

Okay so the last time I had used a disposable camera was probably late 2005 when I'd been on a holiday with my Mum! So that's a real long time, about 9 years ago and I was only 11 years old! :)
I've used film cameras since, and I honestly don't know why they're still not as 'Fashionable' if-you-like, as they were many moons ago! They're fantastic.
I love the -not knowing- of the outcome until you develop the film! (Another thing I miss doing myself, developing and processing film, sad times!)
Anyway, last Christmas I got this nifty disposable camera bought from Urban Outfitters. and I'm in love with it! It has cats all over the packaging and seriously I never want to use it. But, I was saving it for a special event or something. :)
Apparently when I take photos with this camera it will put cute things on the photo. Images of cats, writing such as "MEOW", whiskers and just some random stuff involving cats! Which is quite cool I thought! :)

I'm going to Sheffield on 20th November to go to another Lady Gaga concert for the #artRAVE :)
I thought that because this is going to be a MUCHMUCH quieter show than Manchester and other places such as Birmingham and London etc, this would give me a cheeky opportunity to use this! As I wont get bashed about as much in the standing area as it hasn't sold out, giving me more room to do what I got to do haha!
I'm going to see A Day To Remember the next day in Sheffield also, so if I have any film left I'll try some shots there too. But I doubt I will. ;)

Anyway, I'm sure i'll post another post as to 1, how the show was 2, if the film processed and printed out okay and 3, if all goes to plan... the images themselves!
I'm taking my Nikon camera anyway too so I'll still post photos.
